Website Redesign

The Technical Trade Association is an organization in Finland that advocates for the interests of the technical trade sector and provides its members with forward-looking information on trends, market shifts, and legislation. G-Works was selected as a partner for the website redesign and maintenance following a lengthy competitive bidding process. In addition to the Tekninen.fi website, we also redesigned the website for the association’s Tire Manufacturers Division, rengasvalmistajat.fi.

The overall look and technology of the association’s old website had become outdated. In addition, the site’s structure was confusing in many places and needed to be revamped. At the content workshop held at the start of the project, the focus was heavily on planning the site structure before beginning the visual design work.

The goal of the project was to design a new website from the ground up with the target groups at the center, so that the site would serve those groups and support the association’s objectives in the best possible way. The goal was to increase the visibility of both the association’s activities and the technical trade sector. News and communications play an important role for the association, and current publications needed to be presented on the website in a clearer and more visually appealing way than before.

When defining the website, the target audiences were analyzed in detail, and we considered how the site could best serve each target audience. The site structure was completely redesigned. The site’s layout was given a fresh, modern look. We designed a news section for the site, which will serve as the home for news, blog posts, and sustainability articles. The news content from the old site was automatically migrated to the new site.

Technically, the site was built using new headless technology, which has already become standard in G-Works’ website development. For visitors, this technology translates into extremely fast page load times. Thanks to this technology, the site’s reliability and security are at their peak

Headless technology enables seamless data transfer between different systems and the website. For the Technical Trade Association, we implemented an integration between the Kehätieto Kilta enterprise resource planning system they use and their new website. The association’s events and the extensive lists of companies from its divisions are automatically synced from Kilta to the website.

The end result of the new website was exactly what we set out to achieve at the start of the project. The site is visually appealing and clear, and it meets the needs of our target audiences exceptionally well. As you might expect, the tekninen.fi website is world-class from a technical standpoint. It is extremely fast and secure.
