Comprehensive design expertise

We design clear and user-friendly UI/UX solutions, ensure accessibility, develop corporate identities and graphic guidelines, and create eye-catching marketing materials for both digital and print. Our goal is always to create a cohesive whole that looks great and offers an excellent user experience.

UI and UX design

Website design always begins with understanding the client’s goals, target audiences, and business needs. In the early stages of the project, we conduct specification and conceptualization work to establish guidelines for the new website and define its content structure, key functionalities, and objectives. Our experienced UI/UX designers create a website that supports the client’s brand and needs, serving as a consistent foundation for the entire project.

All the websites we build are designed to be responsive, ensuring an excellent user experience across all devices. Both mobile and desktop views are taken into account from the very beginning of the design process, ensuring that the site functions seamlessly on phones, tablets, and even large screens.

User experience is a central part of our design process. We use analytics and user data from the current website to inform our design, helping us identify areas for improvement and understand user needs. In addition, we thoroughly test the site’s structure, navigation, and usability to ensure that the final result is as clear, intuitive, and user-friendly as possible.

Accessibility in online services

G-Works has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of accessible web services. We have been working closely with Celia, the government’s Accessibility Library, since 2014. This collaboration has been fruitful and has taught us a great deal about accessibility. Read more about our collaboration here. We have developed, maintained, and further enhanced the Celianet audio library service as well as Celia’s other websites. In addition, we have created Celia’s visual identity—the brand book—and numerous marketing materials. We also built an accessible website for the Finnish Tax Administration.

What is accessibility?

Accessibility of online services means that digital services and content are available and understandable to as broad a user base as possible, including people with various physical, sensory, or cognitive limitations. Accessibility is often perceived as a “feature” that enables a specific target group to access an online service. In reality, accessibility benefits everyone. For example, in a quiet library, it’s more comfortable to watch a video clip with the sound off when subtitles are displayed. It’s also much easier on the eyes to read an online magazine in dark mode in the dark compared to a traditional white background, whose higher brightness strains the eyes.

In an accessible web service, the service can be used smoothly with, for example, a screen reader or a keyboard. It is also important to make visual elements accessible by taking into account factors such as contrast ratios. In our accessible web service projects, we prioritize accessibility at every stage of the project: specification, design, and technical implementation. We conduct accessibility audits against WCAG criteria for all projects. Even if the Accessibility Directive does not apply to our client, we still strive to ensure that accessibility is taken into account as thoroughly as possible in the web service. It’s important to remember that accessibility in a web service allows for a larger target audience, makes the site load faster, and improves its search engine visibility.

Visual identity and graphic guidelines

Do you need help creating a visual identity for your company or organization, or increasing brand awareness? Your visual identity is the first thing people actually see about your brand. It’s important that your visual identity communicates your company’s values, reaches the right target audiences, and sets you apart from the competition. Whether you’re looking to refine your brand or build it from the ground up, we’re happy to help. We’ll tailor your visual identity based on your brand’s vision, values, and goals.

Visual identity refers to a brand’s visual elements, such as the logo, colors, typography, graphic elements, and illustrations. In our brand identity projects, all these visual elements are compiled into a single guidebook. By following the graphic guidelines, all of the company’s materials (e.g., website, presentation templates, marketing materials) will have a consistent look and feel. As the name suggests, the graphic guidelines provide instructions on how to use these graphic elements.

From graphic design guidelines to the website and business cards

Companies and organizations often contact us with the goal of redesigning their website. As discussions progress, it often becomes clear that it would also make sense to refresh their outdated brand identity and related materials at the same time. G-Works’ skilled designers can help with all of these needs and create a striking online presence for our clients—from graphic guidelines to websites, business cards, and presentation templates —all under one roof.

G-Works has extensive experience in creating brand identities, various marketing materials, and layout design. Below, we present a selection of our brand design work samples.
