Frequently asked questions

What does G-Works do?

G-Works designs and builds websites, online stores, and custom systems, and takes care of maintenance and further development. The team builds the web service around the client’s goals, such as growing sales, streamlining operations, or launching a new service.

The company has operated since 2010, with six experts and more than 100 sites in maintenance.

What services do you offer?

Services fall into websites, software development, maintenance, and design.

  • Websites: websites and online stores.
  • Software development: intranets and extranets, ordering systems, ERP systems, mobile apps, and integrations.
  • Maintenance: audit and takeover, maintenance and user support, server infrastructure, and further development.
  • Design: UI/UX, accessibility, user interface audits, corporate identity, and marketing materials.

Do you offer accessibility or user interface audits?

Yes. Design services include user interface audits, UI and UX design, and accessibility. Accessibility is considered during specification, design, and implementation, and projects include checks against the WCAG criteria.

Accessible services have been built for Celia, the government’s Accessibility Library, and for the Finnish Tax Administration.

What does the free audit include?

The audit reviews the current site from a technical point of view. It checks whether WordPress, plugins, and the PHP version are up to date, and flags unused plugins or plugins that pose a security risk.

You can request an audit with the contact form by choosing “Free of charge audit” as the subject.

Can you take over an existing website?

Yes. A website does not need to be rebuilt in order to move it to G-Works for maintenance. A technical audit is carried out before the transfer, and any security or functionality issues it finds are fixed. After the transfer, G-Works is responsible for the site’s reliability and security.

Who handles maintenance after launch?

The Respa maintenance team takes care of the web service’s security, technical support, and reliability. Maintenance includes updates to the content management system and its plugins, security monitoring, on-call support for technical issues, backups with 30-day version history, and the server, DNS, and SSL.

Technical support answers on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at respa@gworks.fi. More than 100 sites are in maintenance.

What is the difference between maintenance and further development?

Maintenance keeps a published service running: security, updates, and technical support. Further development is separate development work on an existing site or, for example, a new campaign site.

Further development can be a project or ongoing work. Many clients have a monthly allocation of hours, and the work follows a longer-term plan. Minor development hours are offered at a lower rate than the standard hourly rate.

What kind of work have you done?

You can browse the work at gworks.fi/en/work. It includes websites, online stores, extranets, booking systems, and brand work. The projects use WordPress, headless architecture, Next.js, React, and payment and other integrations.

How do I get in touch?

You can reach us through the form at gworks.fi/en/contact, by phone at +358 44 984 7888, or by email at hello@gworks.fi. The office is at Kuortaneenkatu 1, 00520 Helsinki.

On the form, the subject can be website renewal, a free audit, help with a website, or something else.

Interested in a free audit of your website?

We review your current site and check what it is running on technically. That includes whether WordPress, plugins, and PHP are up to date. Unused or security-risk plugins are also flagged in the audit.
