Redesign of the verokampus website

Verokampus is a website established and maintained by the Finnish Tax Administration that provides easy-to-understand information on taxes. The site’s content has been designed specifically with the needs of teenagers and young adults in mind. The site also offers excellent basic information on taxation for those who are new to the Finnish tax system and tax practices. In addition, the site features a section for teachers, with materials that can be used to teach about tax matters.

The collaboration between G-Works and Verokampus began back in 2016, when Verokampus’s original website was designed and developed. At that time, the Verokampus concept was entirely new, and G-Works had the honor of designing the service’s logo and graphic guidelines. Since then, G-Works has continuously maintained the site and carried out further development projects, the most significant of which were the accessibility improvements made in 2018–2019. These improvements brought the website into compliance with the requirements of the EU Accessibility Directive.

The needs of Verokampus and its target groups had changed over the years. The goal was to highlight these changes on the new website. As part of the website redesign project, the site was given a completely new look, a new structure, and new features. G-Works was not solely responsible for implementing this project. Verokampus’s design partner, Bob The Robot, was responsible for the site’s concept and user interface design, while G-Works served as the technical implementation partner for the project.

Just in time for the New Year, Verokampus’s new website went live. Overall, the project progressed smoothly and was completed in just under two months. Before launch, an external party conducted an accessibility audit of the site.
