What we did
We developed two customized tools for Enetron: a project profitability simulator and a product database. The profitability simulator allows users to examine various profitability and pricing scenarios in real time based on data extracted from a file—values and different scenarios can be modified directly in the user interface.
The product database, in turn, offers a convenient way to manage and view the equipment manufactured at Enetron’s factory and its components: for example, maintenance personnel can quickly look up information on manufacturers and other technical specifications—or a customer can check where devices containing a specific component have been installed.
Both solutions are customized tools and good examples of how sometimes the most efficient and cost-effective way to solve a specific problem is with a lightweight, customized solution designed specifically for a given customer, which can be deployed quickly.
The technology behind the tools
Both tools were built using Next.js—just like the actual website we created for Enetron Park; you can read more about the project here. However, there are differences in the implementation of these tools compared to the website itself:
- The website uses WordPress as its content management system, whereas the profitability simulator does not store any data at all. The simulator reads the information from the file uploaded by the user directly within the user interface.
- The product database, on the other hand, is a standalone system that includes its own database and an administrative interface for adding and maintaining products.
