Life as an artist
This time, our collaboration with the National Museum took us to the picturesque Hvitträsk. The goal was to bring to life the “Ateljee-elämä” exhibition, which celebrates the Finnish ceramic tradition in harmony with its beautiful surroundings. The works in the exhibition were created by artists from the Arabia Art Department Association, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, each of whom offered their own unique approach to working with clay.

Harmony with the environment
In terms of design, the strategy was clear from the outset: the exhibition and its materials should blend harmoniously with Hvitträsk—which functions as a museum—and its existing museum signs, while still standing out from the overall setting in a slightly more vibrant way. Each artist’s work sign was given a unique accent color to add a touch of vibrancy to the overall look. In addition, a sense of continuity was created in the sequence of the signs as visitors made their way through the premises. A large portion of the works was placed in Hvitträsk’s studio, but a significant number also found their place in various parts of the building, with a few even located in the courtyard.

"Thank you" is written at the end
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with the National Museum once again. We were responsible for creating most of the exhibition’s graphic materials, including the design of the lighting panel’s tape, artist and artwork labels, and the exhibition introduction panel.
The result was an exhibition featuring a series of works, each more unique than the last, presented in a beautiful and intriguing setting.
